Wouter Meijs on yksi Amsterdamin eturivin koomikoista. Nyt hän on vierailulla Suomesa ja esiintyy Manalassa 9.12. English Clubilla. Tässä lyhyt haastattelu Wouterista.

When did you first start doing stand up comedy?
2004 in Amsterdam. I was interested in stand up and I got information about a competition and by accident I signed up for it.
In the morning I wanted to call the promoters that I don’t want to do it because I was only asking for some information. But my sister encouraged me to do it. It went pretty well, so I got inspiration to do more.

Now you are doing stand up for living, how many gigs you have per week?
About 4, if I go abroad its more.

Where have you been performing?
Belgium, UK comedy circuit, in Schotland (Edinburgh and Glasgow) since 2007.

What qualities do you think that a good comic needs?
Something out of the ordinary, I always want to see something crazy, surprise and originality, even if most people wouldn´t like it. I like to people to pass their limits. I like the danger in that too..

This is your first visit to Finland, did you have any knowledge of Finland before?
I know some comics and I really like their politeness and hospitality. They are really easy going.

What would you like to say top your audience in Finland?
I don’t have anything Sensible to say. But on stage you´ll find out about my deepest secrets.
